Behind music and all its forms, there is a instrument to create that music.
Every instrument has a background and history of its own that comes together to create the history and heart of our world.
When I think about the history of music and it's role in the world these are the questions that come to mind:
What was one of the original instruments? Where did it come from? What is it's effect on America and the world as a whole?
Unlike most woodwind instruments, the flute is an areophone or better know as a reedless instrument. The flute is one of the most earliest known instruments known to man, founded as early back as 40,000 years ago in Germany and the Swabian Al region. The flute is the beginning of music basically. It not only effects America but it effects the entire world. If the flute had not been invented who knows if we'd even have music or/and instruments now.
These are flutes from all around the world, from all different times. What is the most popular instrument now?
As far as the world knows, these are the top five instruments played around the world:
This basically says that 46% of SLA believes that the guitar is the most popular instrument. 24% of SLA believes that the piano is the most popular. 16% believe that the drums are the most important, 4% believed the Saxaphone, 4% believe the flute, 2% believe the violin, 2% believe the voice, and 2% believe the Cello.
And all these percentages can be translated into a number of students :
(Since there are approximately 500 students in our school, the percentages will be ratioed to 500 hundred students.
Guitar: 46% - 230 students
Piano: 24% - 120 students
Drums: 16% - 80 students
Saxaphone- 4% - 20 students
Flute- 4% - 20 students
Violin - 2% - 10 students
Voice - 2% - 10 students
Cello - 2% - 10 students
How are instruments used in different cultures?
Every instrument has it's place in and all around the world. For example, the drums are used in just about every genre of music all over the globe.
The flute began as a classical instrument because of how light it sounded. Now a days it's used all over the world in may different cultures and genres. For example the flute is used along side the violin and piano in many Japanese songs.
Sadness and Sorrow - Naruto
This song is call Sadness and Sorrow. This is a song originated from an anime (Japane se cartoon). It symbolizes the fact that music brings different cultures together. It's song like this along with the animes that they associate with that has gotten modern day teens and adults so interested and intrigued with the Asian culture.
This song is also an example of domestic and economic institutions. I label it is domestic because of the fact that anime has been a rising thing all over the world and especially in America. In July of 200y Bandai stated that there was close to but no more than 200,000 anime fans in America. That means that about 200,000 people watch, study, and inherit parts of Japanese culture through anime and incorporate it into their homes and life. Over the past three years it's a fact that that number has largely increased.
I say economic because in 2008 it was noted that between 1.7 and 1.8 percent of the US market was just Anime DVDs. In america anime is marketed not only as dvds but also as cds, games, plush toys, and clothes.
Heaven's Not Enough - Wolf Rain Theme Opening
This song is another song made for an anime which
has a flute that plays on and off throughout it.
Here's a song made by a Dutch band Called Within Temptation:
The title of this song is memories. It came out in the year 2004 on their album "The Silent Force". Within this song a piano, guitar, and drums are used.
